To expedite mail delivery times and allow mail to take less room and weigh less when being transported the U.S. Government invented Victory Mail or V-Mail. Mail to and from the military overseas was composed on a specific form then mailed; after it was inspected it would be rejected, passed or passed and partially censured, then it was reduced to microfilm. The v-mail would then be transported and enlarged and delivered on the other end saving tons of transportation space and weight for important war materials or machinery.
