The United States Government Portrays the Nature of the Enemy in WWII Posters.

This poster portrays the anti-religious anti-Christian nature of the Nazi movement. In 1942, the Office of War Information who had been made responsible for overseeing Second World War poster design worked to define poster content by categories; one of the categories was the Nature of the Enemy. Posters in this category were to portray the Axis Powers as monstrous peoples who hated others religions, who wanted to destroy family and home life, who killed Jews and other minorities and who persecuted and looked down on labor. The United States was founded on freedom of religion and had a diversity of religions but at the time of WWII the majority of the citizens were as they still are Christian. This poster no doubt was effective in stirring up the emotions of most Americans and was truthful in that the Nazis actually rewrote their own version of the Bible; Hitler had his own Ten Commandments.

Hitler's 12 commandments from the
Nazi Bible Rewritten for the Aryan:

1. Honour God and believe in him wholeheartedly
2. Seek out the peace of God
3. Avoid all hypocrisy
4. Holy is your health and life
5. Holy is your wellbeing and honour
6. Holy is your truth and fidelity
7. Honour your father and mother
- your children are your aid and your example
8. Keep the blood pure and your honour holy
9. Maintain and multiply the heritage of your forefathers
10. Be ready to help and forgive
11. Honour your Fuhrer and master
12. Joyously serve the people with work and sacrifice.

The Nazis rewrote the Christian Bible, Adolf Hitler created his own Third Reich Bible, www.news.sky.com/s...
