What was the Women's Land Army and U.S. Crop Corps?
During WWII years 1941-1945 the majority of able United States men and boys of age went overseas to fight the war and many able women went to work in the war materials industry on the home front or other war support activities this left American agriculture with a major labor shortage, especially at harvest time. To help deal with this problem Congress authorized funds for an Emergency Farm Labor Service that included the "U.S. Crop Corps" and a branch organization called the "Women's Land Army" both designed to help get laborers onto the farms and into the orchards and fields to most importantly to help American farmers bring in their crops. It became increasingly difficult for farmers to meet the military's extraordinary demand for foodstuffs and many farm laborers were joining the armed services or going to work in factories, farmers looked to the newly established U.S. Crop Corps for needed assistance on their farms. U.S. Governmentcampaigned heartily to find the necessary farm labor and pickers to fortify our agriculture industry and bring in the harvests. An important part of this campaign for agriculture were beautiful farm labor recruitment posters like "FILL IT! Help Harvest War Crops" featured on this page, they were not only effective but many were striking real works of art by extremely talented artists too; they are American Patriotic public domain images copyright free vintage artworks to download and print to hang on your wall or whatever you choose.

Second World War American patriotic posters like "FILL IT! Help Harvest War Crops." helped unite Americans and mobilize the private and industrial sectors; U.S. citizens of every age, gender, and walk of life did their part to support the war effort, allied military and defeat the axis powers.
U.S. citizens hoped that the Axis powers could be stopped without American military support and hoped America could avoid direct involvement in World War 2 but that all changed the morning of December 7 when Japan blindsided the U.S. military with bombs in the attack of Pearl Harbor Hawaii and other U.S. military outposts. The military might of the United States of America of course responded with a powerful vengeance but leaders knew that troops could not win the war alone. The American citizens rallied for the troops and swift mobilization of American citizenry and industry during World War II was an achievement without precedent in speed, scale, complexity and duration. This achievement can be partially attributed to the federal government's intensive program to marshal the contributions of people of all ages and from all walks of life. Many Americans were willing to give up all luxuries and devote all spare time to the war effort to achieve victory. The posters in this gallery helped motivate and mobilize private citizens to find non-military support jobs and produce huge amounts of war materials.
