2011/12 was a great NFL football season that ended with Super Bowl XLVI NFL’s biggest contest #46 Sunday February 5th, 2011, here's the playoff road that took us there...
SUPER BOWL XLVI PLAYOFF ARE ALL HISTORY NOW: the schedule with some of my feelings & opinions included:
Games on Saturday, January 7, 2012:
Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans, on NBC: The Houston has lost three in a row and T.J. Yates is injured; the Texans could easily be eliminated in the first round. The Bengals are a dangerous playoff team. Cincinnati has a good offensive, defensive line and is just plain all around strong, and I like their stripped helmets. How the Game Actually Played Out: Super Bowl history will of course show that Yates was able to put in his two cents, and rookies can play winning football; the Bangles were unable to perform enough scoring acrobatics or convert their cool helmets into points so the young (10 year old) Texas franchise began forging themselves new territory with a win over the Bengals 31-40 over the Bengals... Tnen the Texans played and lost to the Baltimore Ravens Sunday January 14, 2012. ..The Ravens get a 20-13 victory so Baltimore advances to the AFC Championship Game where it will play the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Mass., Sunday at 2 p.m. ET...The best offense in the AFC New England Patriots now meets perhaps the best defensive team the Baltimore Ravens; the Patriots are favored but anything could happen...but didn't and the New England Patriots are headed to the 2012 XLVI SuperBowl 46!
Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints, on NBC: This will be a good football game. There could be a big score and a lot of yards. This should be a fun one to watch but the Saints look to be playing better than anyone in the NFL right now, the Saints can do it all and I think they will beat the Lions and maybe even make the Super Bowl come February. This game played out as expected but nobody is ready to hand the Saints the Vince Lombardi Trophy yet they still have to conquer my favorites the NFC West champion 49ers next Saturday the day after Friday the 13th. Do they feel lucky? As it turns out they were good, very good, the Saints had not one penalty for the whole game but oh my goodness what an upset the game was a historic win for the 49ers over the New Orleans Saints’ 36-32 !!!

Atlanta Falcons at New York Giants, on FOX: The Falcons and Giants are so well matched this one could go either way. It should be a good game to watch; I’ll be rooting for Atlanta as always; but guess I didn't root hard enough because the Giants chrushed the Falcons 24-2...Moving forward next the New York Giants visit the Green Bay Packers...and the visiting New York Giants dominate some football players in Green Bay Packers uniforms 37-20 (obviously that team the Giants played Sunday was not the World ChampionPackers): New York heads for the division championships to play my favorite 49ers next weekend. Oh well, niners loose and the New York Giants Head to the SuperBowl
Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos, CBS: Sorry Denver I would have do go with the Steelers here. The Broncos just need to hope, pray, and give it their all here because they do have a chance to win. Not so, Broncos stuned the Steelers in their first overtime play, 29-23, Tebo is gifted, lucky and backed by an outstanding team. So now the Magic Tebow will lead the poweful Broncos on to face the New England Patriots in the divisional rounds this weekend. I love the Broncos and it was truly sad Saturday 15, 2012 to see Denver get stomped 45-10 by New England, but watch they will be back with a vengance next season and probably in the playoffs next year!

Deja vous the New York Giants and the New England Patriots went head to head for the title four years ago in Super Bowl XLII, it was at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on February 3, 2008. In that duel for the world championship the New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots 17-14 but Vegas is giving slightly better odds to the Patriots this go around...(hopefully you bet on the Giants anyway, I didn't)
