The year of 2008 was almost over, the votes had been cast Barak Hussein Muhammed Obama was warming in the bullpen and United States President George Walker Bush was playing his few final games when on December 12, 2008 at Bush's final farewell news conference in Iraq an errant pitch of a shoe by a journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi caused the President to duck and the rest of the world a universal excitement unlike any seen all year.

This moment no doubt will continue probably forever to be the most memorable moment of 2008.
